Normal Cat6 patch cables and Cat6 cables on cable reels are not suitable for outdoor use. Weather conditions, pests and UV radiation can adversely affect and damage the cable. You can prevent this by using special Cat6 outdoor cables. Cat6 outdoor cables are equipped with a special PE coating which protects them from negative influences.
