Single-mode optical fiber

Looking for single mode fibre optic cables?

Single-mode fiber optic cables are used to transmit data over very long distances at very high speeds. A single mode fiber optic cable consists of one 9/125 μ? fiber. Through this fibre, light signals are controlled by means of laser pulses.

How does a fibre optic cable work

A fiber optic cable is used to transmit light pulses across the cable. These light pulses switch on and off in a flash, kind of like a Morse code. This Morse code is then processed into data by the devices.

When should I get single mode?

Single-mode cables are ideal for high-speed data transmission over very long distances. Since the light signals are transmitted almost straight ahead in a single-mode cable, data transmission can reach high speeds. Singlemode is ideal for longer distances. For indoor use, it is better to switch to multimode fiber optic cables..
