CAT6 UTP cables are the successor to the CAT5e standard. CAT6 cables achieve speeds of up to 1000 megabytes per second at throughput rates of up to 250 megahertz. To achieve these optimal speeds, it is advisable to install patch cables made of pure copper. Only with a 100% copper core the full speed can be guaranteed and the cable complies with the ISO/IEC standard.
Why pure copper and not CCA?
In order to achieve maximum quality, a network cable must have a maximum resistance of 9.38 Ohm DC per 100 meters at a wire gauge of AWG24 (0.205 mm2;). This can only be achieved with copper. To achieve these values with a CCA cable, the thickness of the network cable increases. In addition, pure copper cables can bridge considerably longer distances, reduce the risk of cable breakages and they offer better flexibility, especially in the long term.
It is therefore advisable to invest a little more in a pure, 100% copper patch cable .
