Wall mount boxes
Buying a wall mount box - an important step for a reliable network
If you want to install a new network, it is important to count the number of Internet connections you want to create in each room. Choosing the right wall mount box and the right internet cables is important and must be done in time. You should not only think about what you need today, but also plan for the future. What seems superfluous today may be the standard in 10 years. When all walls and floors of your new or rebuilt home are finished, changes often involve a lot of effort and costs. We recommend the purchase of double sockets RJ45 with two ports for every room you want to equip with an Internet connection. Do not forget your garage and cellar!
Build- in or surface boxes?
When choosing surface boxes, you can choose between a build-in 2 gang back box and a surface mount box. But which double gang back box is better? This depends entirely on whether the network outlet needs to be installed on a new or existing wall. A surface back box consists of a cover plate and a frame. We offer a surface mount outlet in the colours white and ivory. A build-in double gang back box is installed in the wall and therefor is called a shallow surface mount outlet box. It is mostly used for new buildings or renovation work.
Which category ethernet wall mount box?
The category of your wall mounted back box must be matched to the type of your network cables to ensure the characteristics (speed and bandwidth). If you use CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a or CAT7 cables, you will also need the corresponding connectors and CAT 5e surface mount box, CAT 6 wall box, CAT 6a surface mount rj45 or CAT 7 drywall mount electrical box.
Shielded or unshielded RJ45 surface mount box?
Another important aspect for the 2 gang surface mount box is the shielding. Use an unshielded 2 port surface mount box for unshielded cables and use a shielded surface mount network box for shielded cables.
Do you want to buy a Keystone network outlet?
We offer a Cat 5e, CAT 6 and CAT 6a surface mount data box. A CAT 7 network outlet is used less frequently. Our outlets are equipped with RJ45 jacks. An RJ45 outlet is therefore suitable for network cables with an RJ45 plug.
